All hands to the pump as we move to 24 hour waterjet cutting

Due to increasing customer demand, we are now offering around the clock waterjet cutting.

Previously running on two shifts, the changes will see our large waterjet machines move to 24 hour cutting. The move represents our on-going commitment to providing competitive profiles, short lead times and reliable on-time deliveries.

Water Features

Laser cut stainless profiles become elegant focal point of stylish gardens…

We were recently commissioned by a fabrication/welding client of ours to provide some laser cut profiles that went on to become beautiful garden water features.

With a requirement for the parts to be both visually striking as well as possess adequate corrosion protection, polished 304 stainless steel was chosen.

Waterjet Cutting Plastics

One of the major benefits of waterjet cutting technology is its ability to profile a wide range of materials, it is not limited to operating on a ‘metal-only’ basis like our laser and flame cutting technologies.

This ability really comes into it’s own when considering plastics, with there being so many different types, such as nylon, polyethylene, acrylic and even carbon fibre reinforced plastics, being able to cut them all using a single process is a great advantage.

Advantages of Water Jet Profiling

Since we installed our first flatbed water jet cutting machine almost a decade ago, we’ve seen the popularity of this cutting method grow considerably. With plans to grow our water jet cutting services during 2015, we thought we could take this opportunity to look at just why water jet cutting is so popular and what benefits it possesses over other profiling methods such as laser, flame and plasma.

Although these factors still play a major part in who should get your business, with the advancements in cutting technologies, diversification of profiling companies and introduction of legislation, there are now many more considerations that need to be considered.

However, as of 1st July 2013, requirements for all structural steelwork to bear the CE mark and be covered by a harmonised European standard or conforming to a European Technical Assessment (ETA) became mandatory.
