Dimensional Tolerances for Lasercut Profiled Steel Parts.
The following tolerances apply to ferrous materials. Plastics, paper and other materials will differ.
1) Thickness Tolerance
Thickness tolerance shall generally be in accordance with BS EN 10051:1991+A1 : 1997.
2) Flatness Tolerance
Flatness tolerance shall generally be in accordance with BS EN 10051:1991+A1 : 1997.
3) Tolerances for Lengths and Widths
3.1 For rectangular laser cut steel plates, where length L, is defined as the greater of the two dimensions, tolerances on length and width shall be as given in table 1.
3.2 For non-rectangular laser cut steel plates, because of the difficulty in defining length and width for non-standard shapes, tolerances will be as given in Table 1, where length L shall be assumed to be the maximum dimension of the part in question.
For laser cut steel circles and rings, length L will be understood to be the outside diameter of the part in question and tolerances will be as given in Table 1.
All tolerances given in Table 1 are inclusive e.g. 0.40mm shall be understood to mean +/-0.20mm, but by arrangement may be defined as +0.40/-0mm or +0/-0.40mm.
